2026 Fielding Bible Awards Honor Season's Top Defensive Players

Recognition for the best. Sports Info Solutions released its 2026 Fielding Bible Award winners Thursday, continuing a two-decade tradition of highlighting baseball's most accomplished defenders. The annual honors recognize the top fielder at each position, based on a comprehensive evaluation process that combines statistical analysis, visual assessment, and expert judgment from a panel of voters.

The Fielding Bible Awards stand apart from other defensive honors because they take a multifaceted approach to evaluating performance. Rather than relying solely on traditional metrics or subjective opinion, the selection panel weighs statistical evidence alongside the nuanced aspects of defense that don't always show up in box scores—positioning, angles, anticipation, and consistency across a full season.

A mainstay of defensive analysis. Now in its 21st year, the awards have become an authoritative voice in measuring fielding excellence. Teams and analysts increasingly factor these evaluations into their own assessments, and for players, winning a Fielding Bible Award represents peer recognition at the highest level. The combination of rigor and breadth in the voting process lends credibility to the results.

These honors matter for player valuation heading into free agency and trade discussions. A strong fielding reputation can influence how teams assess a player's overall value, particularly for positions where defense has outsized importance. As the offseason develops, this year's recipients will carry the validation of expert consensus into negotiations and roster construction conversations.
